Re: Chrysis mediata?

Does not remind me of Chrysis mediata, chrysidids are not very host specific, and can have many "non-main" hosts, as well as a propensity of inspecting any and all holes and nests they come across. This looks like C. impressa to me, but not possible to say for sure

Re: Chrysis mediata?

Thanks for your intention! In my opinion I would like to rule out C. ruddii. There are some details that don't fit with this species. This season I saw C. ruddii several times at another location. I met the shown species again and could take some other pics. Perhaps they can help? All The best Paul ...

Re: Chrysis mediata?

With these golden reflects on pronotum & scutellum, and the dense small puncture on T II, I think it is Chrysis ruddii, not ? (but here the 3rd antennal segment has blue reflect, whereas ruddii has not a blue reflect, or very small).

Chrysis mediata?

... I took a short trip to my local area. There I saw a male of a species I couldn't meet before in that area. I guess that it's probably a male of C. mediata. I would be pleased if it could be confirmed or get another label. :) Thanks! Paul comp_P5020166.jpg comp_P5020117.jpg comp_P5020157.jpg

Re: Chrysis 2 Trentino

Chrysis sp. in the ignita-complex. Looks a lot like Chrysis mediata Linsenmaier, 1951 to me, its at least the "mediata-subgroup (solida, mediadentata, pseudobrevitarsis etc), and not one of the short-footed species (brevitarsis, pseudobrevitarsis)
