Re: Chrysididae sp. from Fuerteventura II

Hi!

Because of the elongate shape of the head, I suppose that this could be another endemic species:
Chrysis hohmanni Linsenmaier.
It belongs to the Chrysis pulchella group and its apical margin of the last tergite is toothless, similarly to Chrysura

Great!

Re: Last Chrysis of the season?

It belongs to the Chrysis pulchella-group of species, maybe a male of that species, but I'm not sure. Paolo will know more :)

Re: Chrysis succincta?

Здравствуйте, Богдан!

Cупер!
Fantastic! This is an uncommon specimen,
it's the male of Chrysis pulchella Spinola.
In Greece and Bulgaria ... and now South Russia, it has a particular colour with a large blue stripe baso-medially on mesoscutum.

С Уважением,
Paolo

Re: Chrysidids from Spain, July 2014

Hi Alex, another beautiful picture!!! :thanks: Yes, it really looks like C. pulchella Spinola, female. Very nice. Unfortunately the volume on the Iberian Fauna by Mingo, very likely, is the worst volume ever published on the Chrysididae. As far as I remember (a ...

Re: Chrysidids from Spain, July 2014

And here's the image:

Chrysis pulchella Spinola, 1808? Or a related species?
Castilla & León, Spain 21th July 2014.
Large,

In any case, the species (or sp-group) name is very fitting, these are smallish, and very pretty little Chrysis!
