Hedychrum longicolle or gerstaeckeri?

This is follow-on from my post of 5 July. I have found two further images that show something of setae on apical rim of T3, but very imperfectly. Are they long enough to suggest gerstaeckeri or short enough for longicolle? Hoping for the latter, but perhaps we’ll see! Thank you.

Re: N. Appenines (PC), 5.vii.2021, Hedychrum??

Hi Brian,

yes, it's a female of Hedychrum.
My guess is Hedychrum longicolle because I cannot see long setae on the apical margin of the last tergum.
The other option is Hedychrum gerstaeckeri.

Cheers

Hi Paul,
How do you find Hedychrum chalybaeum ?? :ok:
I never found this species, even it have a large distribution !
I find often gerstaeckeri, rutilans, sometimes niemelai, in sandy area, nobile (but not in my region :s), longicolle is very common in south of France... but no chalybaeum ^^.

Nice Hedychrum

... rutilans : and colour are very red !!! There are more green colour than red on head, pronotum and scutum. conclusion : >>> this female is also longicolle , not ? We have not found many sphecid species around these chrysidids : only Bembix, Philanthus and small Cerceris (too small for this chrysid).

Re: In the garden

... much for this information! Of course Halictus could not be the host of Hedychrum spp. It was only a very old citation. On the other hand, Cerceris ... is surely an important observation to state that also the hosts of H . longicolle shuold be Cerceris spp. Thanks Cheers Paolo

Re: In the garden

Thanks a lot Paolo. I note that in Chrysis database there is no know host for H.longicolle (only: ?Halictus (Abeille, 1877)). I can tell you that I observe this Chrysididae surveying and coming inside Cerceris's burrow (gpe rybiensis: most probably C.sabulosa). ...
