Re: [Chrysis cf. impressa]

I cannot easily place this specimen, the punctures on the abdomen seems far too fine and dense for C. impressa , as does the quite narrow apical rim. The coastal location, punctuation, red sternites and white hairs makes me think of C. rutiliventris , but it seems less "particular" ...

Re: Another Chrysis sp.

I'm not sure about this one.

In some aspects it looks like Chrysis impressa, but I never found it alive and I don't know it's real colour in nature (I checked only a few pictures)

Maybe Alex or another friend from Central or North Europe can confirm or not.

Cheers

Re: Chrysis ignita ?

Re: Chrysis ignita ?

Hi,

I'm not sure, I feel more confortable with C. impressa for the punctuation on T2 not so coarse, olive (?) colour on mesoscutum, first tarsomere of metatibia longer, yet the lateral margin of T3 is slighlty arcuate.

Do you have a picture of the black spots on the second sternite?

Re: Chrysis ignita ?

Hello,

It's a female in the "ignita-complex", it should be either Chrysis impressa or C. longula, and I'm leaning towards the former.

Nice pictures!

Your pictures are absolutely fantastic!!! Congratulations! 8-)

For the ID, I would not exclude C. impressa.

Re: Chrysis ID

Chrysis sp., female, in the ignita-complex, there's lots of almost identical, and variable, ... extremes of the west palearctics. However, it does look like C. longula or perhaps C. impressa, do you have any pictures of the punctures on the start of the 2nd tergite, or some ...

Re: Chrysis longula?

Yeah, the "habitus" fits very well with C. longula, but it could of course be something like a slightly oddC. impressa or something as well. Without pictures showing the really diagnostic characters its hard to be absolutely sure, at least for me

Aslo, nice pictures! :D

Re: Chrysis ignita-group female

Its not C. terminata or C. ignita, they have longer, sharper teeth on T3 and coarse punctation on T2, as well as a more heavier build. Its probably C. angustula, but it could be other species, like corusca, schencki, impressa etc, at least I cant rule them out.
