Re: Holopyga miranda ?

Hi Guillermo,

I think that this is Holopyga calida (ex gogorzae sensu Linsenmaier) for the posterolateral angles of the head in sharp.

Re: Holopyga gogorzae and miranda ?

That is very hard to say.

Probably the first is H. gogorzae ,
and the second H. miranda,

but without the specimen I cannot be sure 100%.

Holopyga gogorzae and miranda

Thanks Paolo,

Actually I think I shot both of them. I have two specimens, one larger than the other and with a different tone of red. Can you check if they can be differentiated?
Thanks,

Guillermo

Re: CHRYSIDIDAE sp.?

Beautiful! Its a Holopyga sp., either H. miranda Abeille de Perrin 1878 or H. gorgozae Trautmann 1926. I've never looked at these species before, but ...

Re: Holopyga, Spain

Wow :wohow:

that's a super record.
Your specimen is Holopyga miranda Abeille, which is probably the most frequent taxon in Spain.
However, it is always an interesting datum and no one of the mention species is common.

Thanks for sharing

Holopyga miranda Abeille - Spain

Hi
I found this one in Soria, Spain (7, July, 2012). With a similar coloration I think in Spain are Holopyga miranda, gogorzae or even parvicornis, but I am not sure which one it is !

Thanks for your help.
