Re: Hedychridium roseum?

Hi Paul,

I'm not sure 100%.
It could be also a form of Hedychridium caputaureum, for the evident golden-green face and posterior margin of pronotum.

Ciao!

Re: A strange chrysid on dry calcarous grassland

Hi,

yes, there's another option:

Hedychridium mediocrum Linsenmaier.
It's also quite common and females have non metallic abdomen and genae (in dorsal view) subparallel to slighlty divergent (not rounde as in H. roseum and H. valesiense females)

A strange chrysid on dry calcarous grassland

Hello, I found this small female Elampini, H. roseum group, in a way in the grassland of Chaudanne (Besançon). I think it is Hedychridium roseum roseum (not nanum, not chloropygum, not caputaureum?), but not sure (females valesianum ...

Re: Hedychrum with dull abdomen

Thanks Alex.

Hedychridium roseum would make sense - there were a number of Astata (probably boops picea but I have yet to confirm) on the same nectar source (in this case Cachrys trifida). Are all the members of this group cleptoparasites of Astata?
