Re: New season

... arrives nearly at the same time. These are fresh animals. My first date with them was also in march. On the beginning of April I saw the first C. cuprea. Also in the mid of April I dated the first C. longula, the first C.dichroa and few days later the first Pseudochrysis neglecta. All others didn't ...

Re: Chrysura sp. ?

Hi Guillermo,

yes, I'm not sure about it.
It is not Chrysura cuprea (its head is entirely red) and not even Chrysura purpureifrons.

Re: Chrysura sp. ?

Thanks Jerome,
I think it is something else, Chrysura cuprea has the head of a darker copper colour.
Lets see what Paolo has to say. I have another specimen shot before that has not been ID either.

Cheers,

Guillermo

Re: Huge red Chrysidae

What a color!
They seem to be very close to C. cuprea that I wanted to meet today.
But it was the same like the last two years: not one specimen...what a pity...
Hope that they return to that area...the hosts are still waiting there...

All the best Paul

Chrysidid wasp from Azerbaijan

I got 3 specimens of Chrysididae from Azerbaijan. Can anybody tell me which species it could be? I think it could be a Chrysura species (cuprea?). Length of the wasps is 9-11 mm. Many thanks
