Re: Chrysis germari ?

Hi Christine!

yes, you're right :ok:
it's an unusual and rare variation because the apical margin of the abdomen has an ondulation instead of a single tooth.

Cheers

Chrysis germari ?

Hi,

I've found this little Chrysis (6mm) in an old quarry on Daucus carota (Belgium, 01-08-2016).
Is it Chrysis germari ?

Thanks
Christine

Re: Chrysid

Hi Ian,

yes, Alex is right this is the female of Chrysis chrysoscutella Linsenmaier.

It belongs to the C. succincta group, but to the germari subgroup.

Cheers

Re: chrysididae spec. 2 Northern Italy (Alpi Marittimi)

Argh,

this time seems to be a mission impossible :D

The first specimen could be Chrysis germari Wesmael, but the second one is not clear.
Based on habitus, colour and it's presence on Alpi Marittime I would say Chrysura simplex (Dahlbom).

I cannot help you more.
Cheers
