I think it must be P. violaceus. This one I saw today in my garden. I saw them now the last 3 years once or ... bigger but size is maybe variable. I have a new (not proven) theory about these Pseudomaluses: it follows the scent of ants that lead them to aphids. This time it was ...

Many thanks...... they are very active in these days. Temp is above 25 degrees and many Tryoxylon spec. (and Pemphredon) are active in my garden. Pseudomalus auratus (your study object????) and Chrysis ignita are also very active... I'm still waiting for Pseudomalus violaceus.....

... come meridianus , ma già all'epoca avevo sottolineato come si distinguono le specie e che si trattava di un comune auratus . Il maschio di violaceus ha dimensioni molto maggiori (fino al doppio circa 7-8mm) e intera colorazione omogenea da verde a verde-blu, quindi particolarmente evidente ...
