Spinitharina versicolor (Spinola) - Italy

Postby pietsje » 13 Jul 2012 23:28

Maybe I had this one before but it looks different. Location Alpi Marittimi, Northern Italy, dat: 14-7-2012.
I hope that an id is possible. It was small about 4-5mm (estimate). On one picture it looked almost dark.
Kind regards,
Pietsje

Hi Pietsje,

Spintharina versicolor (Spinola, 1808).
Is it the same specimen or the last one is a second one?

Ciao
Paolo

Paolo, thanks. Nice!
That's a good question. There were a lot of Chrysididae active, very fast (:-( but in my memory it was the same but more shade. Very fond of the nectar of the very tiny flowers.

Kind regards,
Pietsje
