Chrysis chrysoscutella Lisenmaier - Spain

Postby Jose Ignacio » 22 Jan 2012 22:01

Hello,
I saw this Chrysidid next to Madrid the last spring (29.5.2011).
Checking Fauna Ibérica I think perhaps is Chrysis chrysoscutella (or chrysoscutalla) but is difficult for me to be sure and I would greatly appreciate your help.

Thanks.

¡HolaJose!

Bienvenido :welcome:

yes, it's Chrysis chrysoscutella Linsenmaier.

The correct name is chrysoscutella and literally means: with golden scutellum.
You can recognize by the green margin of the scutellum, the anal margin of the last tergite weakly undulate, the pits of the row of pits enlarged if compared with those of C. germari.

Best Regards
Paolo
