almost completely ruby chrysid from Pyrenees

At a superb site, Salto de Roldan, near Santa Eulalia de la Pena, province Huesca, Spain. Plant ID is still on my to-do list, but obviously a yellow umbellifer.

There were other chrysids on the same flowers, possibly the other sex, but I'll post them separately to not confuse the ID process ;-)

Huesca, you say? What other interesting species have you found around there? Because I'm soon heading for Spain - sure, it's supposed to be a professional trip to do insurance quotes for these villas for sale in Barcelona, but hey, I'm free to do what I want on my way back - and would like to spend a couple days hiking in the Pyrenees. Is it legal to camp there, or should I stay at a hotel or private camping lot for the night?

Well, I used the Crossbill Guide to the Spanish Pyrenees, which has a lot to say about geological background, flora & fauna, hiking suggestions, and practical travel information. I was looking mostly for plants, but here (Salto de Roldan), on this large yellow umbellifer (Thapsia villosa) I found many insects, not only chrysids.
