Hello

I found this beautifull insect in my garden in the north of Belgium yesterday (21/05/2020)
The photo's might not be good for identification but I hope someone can manage.
Thank you!

:welcome: Tim!

Nice pictures.

It is a female of Holopyga inflammata or Holopyga lucida. It's probably the first record of this species in your country.

Thank you!

How could one see the difference between the two?

This one was found in the Netherlands about 200km from here, on 12/05/2020. Looks very similar.

I found that the punctuation of the second sternite could be important for determination.
Are these pictures sufficient?
Thank you

Hi

I made some more pictures (on the right side) and tried to compare them with pictures of H. lucida (on the left: http://www.entomologiitaliani.net/public/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=15212&hilit=lucida)
The size is around 7mm.

Are there any good pictures of H. inflammata to compare with?
Any conclusions possible?

kind regards
