While sorting out photos from 2019 I found some of a small chrysidid found at about 1000m on Monte Menegosa, Val d’Arda, in the N Apennines. It was seen on a small plant at the edge of a sandy slope with nesting bees and wasps. Some other species from the same site were identified on this forum last year, but the photos of this species are mostly a bit out of focus so I didn’t post them before. But I am now wondering if there is a chance of naming this one? Thanks for any feedback!

Super.

It's a Chrysura ignifrons, one of the most beautiful species.
Congrats!

Thank you very much Paolo. The specific name certainly fits the appearance! Perhaps I should have guessed?!

By the way, I think the plant this individual was running about on, and several others chrysidid species, might be an Aethionema or Iberis. I am trying to find out if these plants have extrafloral nectaries because that might explain why they were all so interested.
