[Chrysura hybrida]

Always at the same place on the beach, a costal site, I found this little gem. My guess is that it could be Chrysura hybrida a because on this place, I caught many typical specimens of this species... But this one was different from the other ones and also smaller..

Usually the Chrysura hybrida found at this place look mostly like this :

Yes,

you're right,

this is probably the most variable European species for colouration :shock:

Everywhere, including the same populations, you can find different colours, sometimes even forebody entirely blue or green or fully flame red :doh:

Thanks for pointing that out Paolo! The greenish specimen made me think Spintharina versicolor at first...
