Spinolia unicolor?

Postby FrankAe » 07 Nov 2021 13:51

Hello everyone,

I found this Chrysididae at 23-Jul-2021 in Schönower Heide north of Berlin (52.69179330690062, 13.499865231577928).

Because I found the potential host a few meters away, I am wondering if the species could be Spinolia unicolor.
The color deviates as it is more greenish blue. Not sure if the radial sector matches the genus description, although it seems to be "open".

Could you please advice?

Best regards

:welcome: Frank!

yes! You're right :ok:

It' a Spinolia unicolor! Super nice finding. It was already recorded in the sorroundings of Berlin and it's anyway one of the most uncommon species in Europe.
And yes, it's host is Pterocheilus phaleratus.

Congratulations (and very nice pictures!)
Thanks
Paolo
