A very short video of a Chrysis species (identified from other images as probable Chrysis analis: thanks Alex Berg) at a site in the Apennines foothills, Prov. Piacenza, N Italy. 06 July 2020. During 10 days observation up to four chrysidids would appear at one particular boulder with soil and stone flakes scattered on top. Some flakes covered natural crevices or old hymenopteran nest holes; the wasps would select these to sleep in, sometimes two in one tiny hole.

Sorry it’s a bit jerky, I thought I was holding the camera rock-steady!
