N. Appenines (PC), 5.vii.2021, Hedychrum??

Just two more chrysidids from recent stay in Appenines hills of Prov. Piacenza. This one early July, emerged from crevice under rock on stony slope of ophiolitic mountain, c 1,100m. It spent several minutes grooming and standing still in sun before flying and walking about within a few metres, often returning to original stone. Looked green and deep slightly purplish red with naked eye. Investigating apparent holes under stones and rocks. It seemed unconcerned by my presence, unlike the Parnopes grandior that I was trying to photograph, which would touch down from flight for 1-2 seconds at most!
I would love to know the correct genus. The third image appears to show a slight ‘step’ in the margin of T3. Species would be great but not expected! Thank you.

Hi Brian,

yes, it's a female of Hedychrum.
My guess is Hedychrum longicolle because I cannot see long setae on the apical margin of the last tergum.
The other option is Hedychrum gerstaeckeri.

Cheers

Thank you Paolo! I have many other images and think I will be able to verify presence/absence of long setae. Pleased to have got the genus correct!
