What strikes me concerning this specimen, is the rectangle on the thorax. What species?
Thanks.
Kurt
PS. It took me 7 attempts to upload and recrop the image(s). I don't know how to resize (save in lower resolution) my images on my iMac. Observed.org has software to resize uploaded images automatically. Suggestion for this magnificent site?

Super fantastic picture! :wohow:

Do you know the name of the plant?

The specimen looks like C. analis. Do you have other pictures of the last tergite (last part of the abdomen)?

I don't know about the plant, but here is the last tergite (more or less).

Hi Kurt,

thanks for the new picture,

it is not Chrysis analis, but another species in the same species-group:
Chrysis comparata Lepeletier.
