Elampus en Essonne France

Bonjour
EDIT I reinsert the image as the links seems broken

Dear Berzou :welcome:

Thanks for your beautiful pictures!

At first sight your specimens looks like an Elampus panzeri (Fabricius), however I cannot see some diagnostic features, for example the shape of the anal plate in posterior view.
Do you have other pictures of this specimen?

You can see here some diagnostic characters taken from Móczár (1964) and Paukkunen et al. (2015), which are not clearly visible from your pictures

Let me know
All the Best
Paolo

Dear Berzou,

thanks for your message,
actually the shape of the metanotal lamella is large and similar in both species. Even larger in Elampus foveatus, as in your case. Therefore without examination of the specimen I cannot be sure 100%.

However, if not for scientific purpose, you can name your specimen as Elampus panzeri on the web.

Cheers!
Paolo
