Looks like a Hedychrum species. However, I am only a beginner with these, so you should wait for an expert opinion! I do not know which species, perhaps gerstaeckeri?

Hello, from the shape and the medial vein curved of the wings, this is probably Holopyga sp., maybe H. generosa but difficult to be 100% sure...

Yes, agree with Holopyga: very careless of me to miss the angled medial vein! :(

Dear Brian and Frank,

thanks a lot for your help! I have just tried to find some more information on Holopyga generosa, and descriptions as well as available pictures seem to fit well (as much as a laymen like me could say). I've also learned again some more details to look at when finding such species (wing venation, shape of edges of hind head etc.).

Do you agree I should change the title to "... => Holopyga cf. generosa", or better "... => Holopyga sp."?

Best regards,

Markus

At first I also thought about Hedychrum but I found the shape different... Actually Holopyga spp. are often more "hunchbacked". Then I saw the vein... :)

At my place in Northern France, only H. generosa occurs so far and not the similar ones. If you find more specimens in the same area this year, you might be able to know what species it is, regarding the diagnosis : https://www.artsdatabanken.no/Pages/200942/

Cheers!
